Brighton & Hove Albion has had a chequered history in the city since 1901, but football is not the only sport to feature high on the list of recreational activities for Brighton residents. The Brighton Bears basketball team was also well established but sadly the team is now in hibernation. Bowls and golf on local authority courses are still thriving.
